How to Screen Record on Mac and Windows

For Macs 10.14 and below For Macs 10.15 and above For Windows

For Macs 10.14 and below Step 1: Navigate to Launchpad > Quicktime Player.

Step 2: Go to File > New Screen Recording.

Step 3: Click the Options pop-up menu in the photo above, then select your microphone and mouse click settings.

• Microphone: Choose None to record your screen with no sound, or choose a microphone.

• Options: Choose Show Mouse Clicks in Recording so that clicks you make during the screen recording appear as a circle in the video. Highly recommended to be on for any instructional video.

Step 4: Click the record button to choose recording type

• Click your screen to record your entire computer screen.

• Drag a section of your screen that you want to record.

Step 4: To stop recording, click the stop button on the screen or touch stop on the touch bar.

Step 5: To save your recording, go to File > Save, and name your recording.

For Macs 10.15 and above Step 1: Navigate to Launchpad > Quicktime Player.

Step 2: Go to File > New Screen Recording.

Step 3: Choose your screen preferences and click Record.

• Microphone: Choose None to record your screen with no sound. Choose Built-in Microphone to record your screen with sound.

• Options: Choose Show Mouse Clicks in Recording if you want your clicks to appear as a circle during your screen recording.

  • Click your screen to record your entire computer screen.

  • Drag a section of your screen that you want to record.

Step 4: To stop recording, click the stop button on the screen or touch stop on the touch bar.

Step 5: To save your recording, go to File > Save, and name your recording.

For Windows

Step 1: (Not a requirement but recommended)To be able to show mouse clicks download powertoys for windows here:

Step 2: Click install and a new home page will appear.

Step 3: Click Install with Microsoft Store and it will direct you to Microsoft page.

Step 4: Click Get in Store App and it will automatically install.

Step 5: After installation, press Win+Shift+H shortcut to enable mouse clicks. Step 6: Open your internet browser and go to https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/screen_recorder/

Step 7: When prompted please allow microphone access.

Step 8: Click RECORD and select if you want to share a Tab, Window or Entire Screen

Step 9: To stop recording select stop sharing on popup or find the tab and click stop.

Step 10: To save recording click download and save, and name your recording.
